Job Description

Maintenance Person with Ticket

As a Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for performing timely and high-quality maintenance tasks to ensure an exceptional experience for both guests and colleagues. You are also expected to comply with all company policies, legal regulations, and safety standards during repair work.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • The duties below, and other duties as assigned by management
  • A key component of this position will be preventative maintenance.
  • Be aware of, support and ensure all health and safety policies, environmental policies & evacuation procedures including updates are adhered to
  • To maintain and repair the hotel’s guest rooms and public areas
  • Maintain hotel guest room and public space preventative maintenance programs
  • Must be able to do ordering through vendors and source out the products
  • Report broken or misused equipment to Maintenance Office
  • To be able to cover hotel steam supply and chillers (building systems) over the weekends or when necessary
  • Should have thorough knowledge of the glycol system, chillers, air handling units, fan coil units, compressors, pumps
  • Should be able to do/help in doing preventive maintenance on the mechanical equipment like glycol system, chillers, air handling units, fan coil units, compressors, pumps
  • Maintain accurate reports and logs as per the hotel requirements
  • Maintain compliance of all H&S programs
  • Other assigned duties as necessary to fulfill the scope and general purpose of job
  • Must respond as part of the Emergency Response Team
  • Have complete knowledge of hotel fire standards and procedures

Qualifications

  • Ticket is required for this position
  • Working knowledge of computerized Building Maintenance Systems is an asset
  • Working knowledge of HVAC and A.H.U. systems and chiller operations
  • Minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry knowledge
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Must be able to work effectively in a high pace environment
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to work in a team environment
  • Must be willing to learn, self motivated and be comfortable working in a technically demanding environment
  • Must be available to work weekends
  • Further training will be required and provided as it relates to property specific systems

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Must be willing and able to perform duties of a physical nature
  • Often required to push, pull and lift heavy items (greater than 20kg)  Frequent standing and walking throughout shift for up to 8hrs  Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
