Job Description

As a Senior Leisure Sales Manager, you will be responsible for all direct revenues for business travel, consortia, wholesale and entertainment segments.  Sells hotel guestrooms through direct client contact with assigned market segments to meet or exceed established total company annual revenues and profit goals. This is a leadership position focused on client retention and new account development.  This role reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing.

  • Establish a client base of accounts within assigned market segments through direct outside and inside sales activities for the purpose of securing business for the chain to ensure that predetermined annual sales expectations are met or exceeded
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure that competitive information and market developments are communicated on a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients in order to totally penetrate accounts to secure transient business
  • Negotiate guest room rates, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines. Confirms in writing to the client all requirements via sales contract
  • Conduct property site inspection tours of the chain’s facilities and services; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Accurately forecast personal bookings and cancellations against budgeted revenue.
  • Determine and recommend prospective customers from market information / resources, develop and maintain prospecting list
  • Solicit transient business through the preparation and execution of action plans
  • Independently responsible for achievement of objectives as outlined in the action plans. Within established parameters, quote and negotiate prices, confirming by written contracts
  • As directed, participate in tradeshows, client events, conventions and promotional events.
  • Actively participate in prescribed sales training
  • Respond promptly to client requests in a friendly, efficient manner. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Maintain a professional image at all times through appearance and dress
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of four years of sales experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proven ability to build relationships and find new business: prospecting, networking, site inspections and sales calls
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and share information with all staff
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and juggle many tasks simultaneously
  • Superior problem-solving/strategizing skills
  • Excellent overall computer skills including Microsoft applications, with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, and OperaCloud/ Sales systems.
  • Proactive mindset to anticipate and support changes in our business
  • Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior
  • Exceptional customer service abilities
