The Legal Counsel works in Accor’s headquarters in Paris Suburban Area (Issy les Moulineaux). Within a team of 8 lawyers, under the supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel – Tech, the Legal Counsel works on legal issues relating to innovative technologies and digitalization of the Group. The Legal Counsel must have a previous experience at handling transactional matters including product development, drafting and negotiating contracts, structuring innovation projects and strategic tech partnerships, regulating and protecting online contents.
The Group is currently undergoing major changes in its core business applications, both for corporate functions and hotel needs, and engages in negotiations with strategic service providers to drive these changes. Furthermore, the Group's digital transformation, including development of all digital products and experiences is a fast-track major ambition for Accor which includes the growing use of innovative tools, various platforms and many more digital assets. Capacity to drive change and evolution of the ways of working within the group requires agility, adaptability and critical thinking, and being able to adopt a 360° approach to commercial issues with all stakeholders (from hotels to service providers).
Under the supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel Tech, the Legal Counsel – Tech, Digital & Innovation shall:
- Provide support on projects for the digitalization of the Group including all innovative projects (AI, platform regulations),
- Secure and enable projects for the deployment of Digital and IT solutions both for corporate and hotel use, by supporting business teams in their contract negotiations and providing legal support in relation to management of the commercial relationship with strategic Digital and IT service providers
- Support and enable effective deployment of the Group Digital projects, policies and strategies related thereto.
- In collaboration with all relevant internal stakeholders, draft and update various contract templates and processes to reflect evolutions in regulation and/or Group policies.
- Actively support in the deployment of the use of the digital tools and/or templates agreements used at Group level, in particular the Contract Lifecycle Management tool and the Global Contracting Policy, including via oral presentations and/or trainings
Any other task which may be deemed fit to protect the reputation and assets of the Group.
- Graduated from a Master of Law, ideally with double cursus
- Minimum 6-8 years of previous experience in a company or in an international law firm
- Experience in IT, cybersecurity, data protection, e-commerce, platform regulations, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies
- Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders in an international and multicultural environment
- Fluent English
- Strong leadership skills (agility, adaptability, decision making, critical thinking)
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Strong communication (written and oral) and people skills
- Ability to simplify and be impactful
- Strong business acumen
- Methodical organizational skills, ability to plan and to be pragmatic: project management skills
- Knowledge of main compliance matters such as the fight against corruption, the respect of international sanctions, duty of vigilance and competition/antitrust law.
- Curiosity and Capacity to understand and implement the requirements of sector regulations
- Technology savvy, good understanding of information systems and advanced technologies
