Job Description

Role Overview

As a Laundry Attendant at Banyan Tree Dubai, you are responsible for the efficient processing of hotel linen, guest laundry, and uniforms. You will ensure all items are cleaned, pressed, and handled with care in line with luxury hotel standards.

You play an important role in maintaining the quality, hygiene, and presentation of all linen and garments used throughout the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

Laundry Operations

  • Sort, wash, dry, press, and fold hotel linen, guest laundry, and uniforms.
  • Operate laundry machines and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Follow instructions for different fabric types and cleaning requirements.
  • Ensure all items are processed according to brand standards and schedules.

Linen & Garment Care

  • Handle all fabrics with care to prevent damage or loss.
  • Ensure proper stain treatment procedures are followed.
  • Inspect items for cleanliness, damage, or repairs before and after processing.
  • Ensure proper folding, packaging, and storage of clean items.

Guest Laundry Service

  • Process guest laundry requests promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure timely pick-up and delivery of guest items.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling guest belongings.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues to the Laundry Supervisor immediately.

Equipment & Workplace Maintenance

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of laundry work areas.
  • Clean and maintain machines and equipment after use.
  • Report any technical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Follow preventive maintenance procedures as instructed.

Health, Safety & Hygiene

  • Follow all hygiene, safety, and sanitation procedures at all times.
  • Use laundry chemicals and detergents safely and correctly.
  • Wear appropriate protective equipment when required.
  • Ensure safe handling and storage of all items and materials.

Quality & Efficiency

  • Ensure all laundry items meet quality standards before dispatch.
  • Work efficiently to meet daily operational deadlines.
  • Minimise damage, loss, and waste of linen and garments.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in laundry operations preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.
  • Basic understanding of laundry processes and fabric care is an advantage.
  • Ability to operate laundry machines (training can be provided).
  • Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
