Job Description

We are looking for a Junior IT Technician to join the team at Fairmont St Andrews. As a Junior Technician, you will provide proactive and reactive support to ensure the continuous availability of the hotels IT systems.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Setup and maintenance of hotel technology:

  •  Assist with onboarding of new colleagues.
  •  Install and configure systems to agreed standards under the direction of the IT Manager.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems and to communicate their resolution to users.
  • Conduct regular hardware/software checks.

Maintain & Support AV Technologies

  • Maintain an inventory of hotel AV equipment.
  • Regularly test and perform maintenance on AV equipment.
  • Setup and provide support AV equipment.
  • Support Event Operations team and 3rd parties in relation to AV.

Other IT tasks, including:

  • Audit IT equipment as required.
  • IP Phone system maintenance (Queues, ring orders, etc)
  • Proactive maintenance of printers and consumables

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have or be working towards gaining IT based qualifications with a keen interest in IT (and technology generally).

  • Passion for technology and innovation.

Essential Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Office products.
  • Ability to troubleshoot ie. investigate and resolve issues.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in Microsoft Windows server operating systems.
  • Experience in IT Support - both software and hardware.
  • Understanding of networking principles.
  • Experience with AV equipment.
