Job Description

  • Verify sales from Room Department by examining the Manager’s Report from Opera and the Daily Revenue Report.
  • Verify sales from Food & Beverage Department by examining the Food & Beverage Revenue Report.
  • Verify sales from Minor Operating Departments by examining the Daily Revenue Report and supporting vouchers.
  • Verify that voucher totals agree with Daily Revenue Reports and F&B Revenue Reports.
  • Verify that guest ledger balances agree with the total of all account balances for each room.
  • Verify main checks are processed according to stipulated procedures.
  • Ensure all sales vouchers are used in sequence and properly accounted for.
  • Verify Accounts Receivable settlements and forward documents to the AR or Credit Manager.
  • Verify that Front Office Cashiers, F&B Cashiers and Night Audit operations comply with stipulated procedures.
  • Review and investigate cashier overages and shortages and report discrepancies.
  • Ensure audited documents are properly filed and maintained.
  • Prepare cashier exchanges daily and ensure timely processing.
  • Prepare daily bank deposits accurately and on time.
  • Check all cashier floats regularly.
  • Prepare and submit the daily General Cashier Report.
  • Prepare daily journals for loading into Sun System.
  • Maintain accurate records of petty cash reimbursement and submit to Account Manager for review.
  • Maintain accurate records of cash distribution and moneybag balances.
  • Safeguard hotel cash funds and ensure compliance with cash handling policies.
  • Report any major cash shortages or overages to the Cluster Director of Finance or Account Manager immediately.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures.
  • Works within all preset budgetary limits.

Qualifications

  • University graduate with major in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 4–5 years working experience in an international hotel accounting department.
  • Experience in Income Audit and cash handling preferred.
  • Knowledge of Opera, Sun System and Future Log System preferred.
  • Good knowledge of hotel internal control systems and procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.
  • Previous work experience in Maldives preferred.
