Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hygiene Officer to join our team in Visakhapatnam, India. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our organization. You will play a crucial role in creating and sustaining a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for both guests and staff by implementing, monitoring, and enforcing comprehensive hygiene practices in accordance with local and international regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on organizational health and safety standards while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain hygiene policies and procedures that align with local health authority requirements and international best practices
  • Conduct regular and thorough hygiene inspections and audits of all organizational areas, including food preparation areas, dining facilities, guest accommodations, and common spaces
  • Monitor and enforce strict compliance with hygiene standards, food safety regulations, and health and safety protocols across all departments
  • Oversee sanitation practices in kitchen facilities, ensuring proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
  • Coordinate with pest control services and oversee pest management measures to maintain a pest-free environment
  • Prepare comprehensive hygiene reports and documentation for management review, highlighting findings, trends, and areas for improvement
  • Document corrective actions for any hygiene-related issues and follow up to ensure timely resolution and compliance
  • Collaborate with the Health and Safety team to identify, assess, and mitigate hygiene-related hazards and risks
  • Participate actively in health and safety committee meetings and contribute to organizational safety initiatives
  • Address guest and staff inquiries and concerns regarding hygiene and cleanliness with professionalism and empathy
  • Ensure continuous improvement in hygiene standards to enhance guest satisfaction and organizational reputation
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on proper hygiene practices and compliance requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of local Indian health authority regulations and international hygiene standards and best practices
  • Proven experience in hygiene management, food safety, or environmental health within a corporate or hospitality setting
  • Comprehensive understanding of food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and pest control procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications for documentation and reporting
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear and professional reports
  • Proven capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to address hygiene-related issues efficiently and decisively
  • Physical ability to conduct regular inspections and audits throughout the facility
  • Certification in Food Safety and Hygiene or HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) is preferred
  • Knowledge of corrective action procedures and compliance documentation
  • Customer-focused approach with a commitment to maintaining high service standards
  • Flexibility and resilience in adapting to changing regulations and organizational needs
