HVAC Technician

As an HVAC technician, your role revolves around installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in various settings.

• Installing HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioning units, heat pumps, ventilation systems, and refrigeration equipment, following blueprints, design specifications, and local building codes.
• Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning filters, inspecting ductwork, lubricating moving parts, and testing system performance to ensure optimal efficiency and longevity.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting HVAC system malfunctions, identifying faulty components, and repairing or replacing parts as needed to restore functionality and efficiency.
• Handling refrigerants safely and responsibly, following EPA regulations for refrigerant recovery, recycling, and disposal.
• Conducting tests and performance checks on HVAC systems to verify proper operation, airflow, temperature control, and humidity levels.

• High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a vocational school program, apprenticeship, or HVAC certification is preferred.
• Proven experience as an HVAC technician, with hands-on experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems. Experience with different types of HVAC equipment and controls is advantageous.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Knowledge of HVAC systems, components, electrical circuits, refrigeration principles, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment, working in confined spaces, and climbing ladders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose HVAC system issues accurately and implement effective solutions.
• Thorough attention to detail in performing installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with specifications.
