What you will be doing:

  • Daily stores activities including ordering, storing, receiving, organizing and issuing of food & beverage products
  • Establish a professional business relationship with all internal & external clients
  • Proactive monitoring and assisting with improvement to food & beverage costs
  • Ensure all products are accounted for
  • Products are checked for quality, stored safely and securely
  • Accurate inventories are conducted to ensure timely order fulfilment
  • Purchasing standards are strictly implemented
  • Ensure a smooth and efficient functioning of the day to day operations of the stores department
  • Provide guidance, mentorship and feedback to all colleagues and work to enhance colleague morale
  • Train new colleagues and train colleagues on new initiatives within the department and Hotel
  • Maintain a safety culture within the department and ensure departmental adherence to and awareness of Health and Safety standards
  • Ensure all hotel and departmental policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Lead month end inventory counts
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Minimum 2 years recent experience as a store person or an equivalent position with experience in inventory or stock control or 6 months as a supervisor in a stores department of a hotel of a similar size and standard
  • Ability to effectively understand the varying business levels and implement decisions with a high level of attention to detail
  • Execute multiple tasks within strict deadlines while displaying attention to details and business levels
  •  Food, Beverage & Operating Supplies product knowledge
  •  Demonstrated accounting and inventory control
  •  Must be bondable
  •  Impeccable grooming and presentation
  •  Completely fluent English language skills; both written and verbal
  •  Demonstrated excellent organizational skills
  •  Demonstrated team player with proven success in relationship building within  all levels of the organization
  •  Demonstrated a high level of responsibility and commitment
  •  Proven history of working well with minimal supervision
  •  Demonstrated knowledge of safe working procedures
  •  Proficient in use of Excel and Email
  •  Purchasing & receiving experience would be an asset
  •  Supervisory experience would be an asset

    Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): The position of Storeperson is physically demanding. The successful applicant must be physically capable of performing repetitive work, as well as lifting and carrying heavy loads.

    Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
