      Job Description

      This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in the successful launch of a brand-new Sailing yacht. Under the autohority of the head of IT, the Newbuild IT Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of IT infrastructure and systems during the ship's construction phase. This includes planning, implementation, testing, and commissioning of all onboard IT systems, ensuring they are fully operational and integrated before the ship sets sail.

      Key Responsibilities:

      Project Management:

      • Ensure that the company IT policy is integrated within the newbuild project.
      • Lead all IT-related projects during the ship's construction, including network infrastructure, server installations, communication systems (satellite, Wi-Fi, cellular), entertainment systems, and guest-facing technologies.
      • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
      • Collaborate closely with shipbuilders, vendors, and internal stakeholders (e.g., engineering, operations, entertainment) to ensure smooth project execution.

      System Integration:

      • Oversee the integration of all onboard IT systems, including hardware and software, to ensure seamless operation and compatibility.
      • Conduct rigorous testing and quality assurance procedures to identify and resolve any issues before the ship is delivered.
      • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all IT systems.

      Technical Expertise:

      • Possess in-depth knowledge of various IT technologies, including:
      • Network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi)
      • Server technologies (virtualization, cloud computing)
      • Data storage and backup solutions
      • Cybersecurity best practices
      • Audio-visual systems and entertainment technologies
      • Guest-facing technologies (mobile apps, digital signage)

      Vendor Management:

      • Manage relationships with IT vendors, including hardware and software suppliers, service providers, and consultants.
      • Negotiate contracts, ensure compliance with agreements, and manage vendor performance.

      Risk Management:

      • Identify and mitigate potential IT risks and challenges throughout the construction process.
      • Develop and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen issues.
      • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and security regulations.

      Qualifications

       

      • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
      • 5+ years of experience in IT project management, preferably within the maritime or hospitality industry.
      • Proven experience in planning, implementing, and managing complex IT projects.
      • Strong technical expertise in network infrastructure, server technologies, and cybersecurity.
      • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
      • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
      • Fluency in English and French is required.
