Join Our Maintenance Team!

Are you skilled with tools, have an eye for detail, and enjoy a fast-paced work environment where no two days are the same? We're looking for a reliable and motivated Handyperson/Painter to join our dynamic maintenance team.

Job Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our hotel rooms, public areas, and facilities are maintained to a high standard—both behind the scenes and in guest-facing spaces.

This isn’t your typical 9-to-5 role — weekdays will focus on painting projects, while weekends offer the opportunity to showcase your all-around maintenance skills as a Handyperson.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily maintenance and repairs across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
  • Paint and maintain surfaces such as walls, ceilings, doors, and furniture throughout the hotel.
  • Prepare and finish surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray-guns; mix and match paint as needed.
  • Patch and repair Gyprock walls and ceilings.
  • Maintain finishes on wood, masonry, and tiled surfaces (including caulking and grouting).
  • Complete scheduled maintenance tasks through the hotel’s Property Management System (Opera Cloud PMS).
  • Perform plant and equipment checks; report and address faults promptly.
  • Ensure all tools and materials are properly handled, stored, and maintained.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient completion and minimal disruption to guests.
  • Be responsible for the restocking, upkeep, and timely delivery of all tasks, equipment and tools related to the painting department.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ painting or maintenance experience preferred, but we’re happy to train a motivated learner.
  • A hands-on, team-focused individual who also works well independently.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Clear communicator with a positive, can-do attitude and eye for detail.
  • Comfortable using tools and following safety procedures.
  • Guest-focused and professional in all areas of the hotel.
