We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Groups and Events Coordinator to join our dynamic team at SO/ Uptown Dubai. As a key member of our events department, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing group events and functions, ensuring exceptional experiences for our clients and guests.
- Manage the entire event lifecycle, from initial client consultation to post-event evaluation
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
- Create detailed event proposals, including budgets, timelines, and logistics plans
- Coordinate all aspects of event execution, including venue selection, catering, audiovisual equipment, and entertainment
- Oversee on-site event operations, ensuring smooth execution and client satisfaction
- Manage multiple events simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and budget constraints
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless event delivery
- Conduct post-event evaluations and prepare reports for management and clients
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative ideas into event planning
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards for all events
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in event planning or hospitality industry
- Proven track record of successfully planning and executing group events and functions
- Strong knowledge of event planning processes, vendor management, and budgeting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with event management software
- Problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet in high-pressure situations
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules
- Knowledge of the hospitality and tourism industry in Dubai and the UAE
- Familiarity with local vendors and suppliers in the region
- Professional certification in event planning (e.g., CMP - Certified Meeting Professional) preferred
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus
