Job Description

Working in the Hotel Grounds department, the Hotel Grounds Attendant takes pride in the hotel’s property, ensuring its safety, and with a high attention to detail ensures visitors’ expectations are exceeded.

Starting Rate: $20.18 per hour

We recognize tenure through our compensation. Hourly rates increase after six months, and yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $23.06.

Note: Preference will be given to applicants who can commit to the full duration of the season (July through January).

Job Duties Include:  

  • Provide consistently professional, engaging, and friendly service while maintaining clean grounds by sweeping, removing debris, emptying rubbish/recycling bins, and replenishing wood piles.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks including shoveling, lifting, pushing, digging, bending, and walking; assist with major outdoor projects and seasonal events as needed.
  • Support summer operations through regular watering, lawn and garden maintenance, plant health care, and weed/litter removal across property areas.
  • Support winter operations by transporting and setting up decorations (including carrying heavy items and working on tall ladders) and assisting with snow removal.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned to support overall property maintenance and seasonal presentation.

Qualifications

Your Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous landscaping experience required
  • Previous experience with Christmas Décor in a hospitality/retail setting is an asset
  • Must have Class 5 driver’s license and driver’s abstract in good standing
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift and must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 70+ lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of temperatures and conditions (snow, heat, rain).
