Job Description

The Grounds Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing daily operations of the grounds department, including staff supervision, training, and performance management.
  • Managing and maintaining the resort's landscape, including trees, flowers, shrubs, and weed control.
  • Conducting regular property inspections, preparing reports, and liaising with the Chief Engineer regarding departmental requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety procedures, environmental regulations, and proper use of protective equipment.
  • Managing inventory, equipment, irrigation systems, and departmental budget, including payroll and effective rostering.
  • Conducting property tours and representing Fairmont Royal Pavilion professionally at all times.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • University Degree or Associate degree in Landscaping, Horticulture, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team structure
  • Strong service-oriented mindset is imperative
  • Proven ability to manage competing demands through effective prioritisation
  • Exceptional organisational skills coupled with superior communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining professional relationships
  • Legal authorisation to work in Barbados is mandatory
