Job Description

Graphic Designer

As a Graphic Designer, you'll craft compelling visuals for both print and digital mediums, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and the hotel's positioning. Your role includes conceptualizing and designing diverse marketing materials, maintaining awareness of design and hospitality trends, and collaborating with teams to meet deadlines. You'll support campaigns across departments, especially in social media and mobile marketing, while analyzing market trends. Additionally, you'll manage e-tools, contribute to web strategy development, and provide professional service. Collaboration with Sales & Marketing is key for driving profit growth, alongside fulfilling ad-hoc responsibilities within hotel protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Graphic Design and Branding: Developing and delivering high-quality graphic designs for print and digital channels, adapting creative concepts to various materials and mediums, while ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and hotel positioning. It also involves conceptualizing, directing art, and designing artwork and collateral.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating closely with the team and other graphic designers to conceptualize ideas and execute accordingly, as well as liaising with suppliers and production companies to ensure accuracy and high-quality printed materials. Additionally, supporting the team throughout campaign and project execution and assisting with other responsibilities in the absence of team members or as assigned by the direct in-charge are key aspects.
  • Deadline Management and Support: Ensuring all artwork is submitted within specified deadlines and supporting all departments with design requests and execution, particularly for social media, mobile marketing, tracking, analysis, and control.
  • Market Analysis and Strategy: Gathering and analyzing intelligence on market threats and opportunities, building a destination-focused web strategy, and stimulating support for the development of the hotel's online strategy.
  • Technology Management: Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of design and hospitality software, technologies, trends, and updates, as well as managing various e-tools such as eCRM, CMSs, and social media management platforms.
  • Customer Service and Profit Growth: Consistently offering professional, friendly, and engaging service, executing design plans in collaboration with the Sales & Marketing department to drive profit growth, and adhering to all hotel policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Technical Skills and Design Expertise: Proficient in graphic design software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Dreamweaver, Flash), MS Office, Corel Draw, and Acrobat. Strong technical understanding of web technologies (HTML, Flash, CSS, AJAX) and printing processes for digital and print mediums. About Mantis Collection: Mantis is a boutique hospitality group that was founded by conservationist Adrian Gardiner in 2000, with its main focus predominantly in Africa and the Middle East. Mantis grew from Adrian’s vision to restore and rewild degraded farmland which he developed into a widely-acclaimed Private Game Reserve. This was the first private game reserve in the Eastern Cape and the beginning of eco-tourism in a poverty-stricken province that had few opportunities outside of commercial farming. Adrian and the Mantis team successfully created a place where man and nature could co-exist sustainably. From this initial success, the Mantis model was then developed worldwide, understanding that consumers could use the Mantis portfolio as a mark of quality, consistency and character. Today the diverse portfolio of handpicked properties links up to create travel journeys, which offer guests the opportunity to experience the essence of the location in a setting of tailored luxury. Rooted in conservation, Mantis pursues sustainable business practices and develops tourism products that are respectful of the environment and communities in which they operate.

Do what you love, care for the world, dare to challenge the status quo! #BELIMITLESS
