Company Description

The Hoxton Brussels

We are seeking an experienced General Manager for The Hoxton Brussels.

The Hoxton, Brussels marks our debut in Belgium, set within a striking brutalist tower that once served as IBM’s European headquarters. The hotel offers 198 rooms in a range of sizes, alongside a spacious double-height lobby, a lively bar, and a cozy coffee bar. Guests can enjoy Peruvian-inspired cuisine at Cantina Valentina, or take in breathtaking city views from TOPE, our rooftop bar. Our distinctive meetings and events space, The Apartment, adds a unique touch, while Working From_ introduces our signature co-working experience to Brussels.

More about us…

The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels, each in a neighbourhood that we love. Ever since we opened our first hotel in Shoreditch, we’ve never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that: proving style doesn’t need to be sacrificed for good value and providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighbourhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces.

 What's in it for you...

  • Join an innovative, fast-growing, international group that’s committed to not just building new hotels but building a global brand.
  • The chance to challenge the norm and work in an environment that is both creative and rewarding.
  • Become part of a team that’s very passionate about creating great hospitality experiences and building a portfolio of brands.
  • A competitive package and plenty of opportunity for development.

Job Description

What you’ll do…

  • Take full ownership of the property’s commercial success and overall performance, overseeing everything from P&L management to budgeting, planning, forecasting, and re-forecasting. Drive business growth in Food & Beverage by maintaining the energy and appeal of our rooftop and restaurant venues, expanding the success of Working From_, and supporting the expansion plans of our Meetings & Events spaces.
  • Lead by example in creating a brilliant experience for our guests that exceeds their expectations and builds a great reputation for our properties.
  • To achieve and maintain the highest possible levels of customer service to both external and internal customers, forging long-term relationships with suppliers and contractors.
  • Make sure our brand standards are properly brought to life and to think outside of the box in how we ground the brand in the local market.
  • Make our own people a real focus. You will be managing a large team with 8+ direct reports, so creating an environment where they feel supported, have opportunities to grow, and enjoy what they do is key to this role!
  • Play a key role in managing the relationship with the central teams and owners. Given the complexity of the building with multiple occupiers and users, maintaining clear and effective communication with owners and stakeholders is critical.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for…

  • Individuals. You’re looking for a place where you can be you; no clones in suits here.
  • Passion for hospitality – whether that’s a drink, a meal, an event or a bed for the night.
  • You’re all about having a positive impact on the people you interact with, leaving them with a memorable experience.
  • You’re not precious. We leave our egos at the door and help get things done.
  • You’re up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once. You embrace an entrepreneurial approach—aligning with what Hox and the owners want to see—challenging existing processes and running the property as if it were your own business.
  • If we got stuck in a lift together we’d have a good time and share a few laughs.
  • You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and has fun along the way.
  • A strong hotel operator with local and international experience.
  • Comfortable handling all commercial aspects, including F&B, and able to strike the balance between commercial decisions and doing what’s right for the brand.
  • Passion for providing great guest experiences, rooted in high-quality service that feels natural.
  • Someone who leads from the front – you’re only as good as your team, know how to set standards, and motivate & develop those around you.
  • Good market & industry knowledge and connections that you can use to make sure the brand makes an impact.
