Mercure Penrith has an exciting opportunity to join our Rooms and Food & Beverage team as a Front Office All Rounder. We are looking for someone who can commit to a minimum of 2-3 shifts per week including weekends, public holidays and evening shifts (3pm - 11:30pm).


Job Description

To be successful, the role requires flexibility to work over a 7-day roster and the willingness to be a team player across our Reservations, Reception and Food and Beverage team.

As a Front Office All Rounder, you will be required to:

  • Assist guests with reservations via email and telephone.
  • Ensure all reservations are updated accurately to ensure a seamless check in process.
  • Ensure all reservations have a valid payment method.
  • Assist with group quotes and entering of rooming lists.
  • Communicate with all hotel departments to ensure a seamless experience for all guests.
  • Promote Accor Live Limitless (ALL) loyalty program to all guests.
  • Ensure a warm and welcoming experience for all guests.
  • Ensure payment is received for all hotel reservations.
  • Prepare daily for arrival of future hotel guests and groups.
  • Be knowledge on activities and the local area of Penrith.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the hotel reception, lobby and bar areas.
  • Hold a current NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate.
  • Preparation and service of food and beverage in the Lobby Bar.
  • Processing of payments and orders through Shiji Infrasys POS.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the hotel reception, lobby and bar areas.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience as a Front Office Guest Services Agent would be advantageous, however customer facing experience is also highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in hotel PM systems, Opera Cloud is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team orientated environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Driven and motivated to complete tasks and proactive to look for additional work to be completed to support the team. Be able to prioritise tasks to ensure guest requests are completely immediately.
  • Proficient email management handling high volumes of emails and requests.  
  • Experienced using a Barista coffee machine or be prepared to attend a training course for making coffee.
  • Physically fit and able to complete a full shift on your feet. Must be able to lift up to 20kg and push/pull a trolley of the same weight. 
  • Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster including weekends, public holidays.
  • NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate is required.
  • Visa holders require full Australian working rights with no restrictions.
