Orient Express La Minerva, Rome 

Considered as the beloved capital of the Orient Express legend, Rome will be home to the first Orient Express hotel, Minerva, in 2024. Orient Express, in partnership with the Italian luxury hotel group Arsenale S.p.A, has entrusted the interior architecture and artistic direction of the hotel Hugo Toro. The former Palazzo Fonseca is a sumptuous 17th-century palace with a huge, majestic façade. A place of memory still adorned with its Roman columns, sculptures by Rinaldi Rinaldo, a disciple of Casanova, and the fascinating goddess Minerva. At the end of 2024, a new décor and interior inspired by the Roman domus and the riches of the "Eternal City" will be revealed with a new touch of contemporary elegance.

Job Description

As the Food & Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the hotel's food and beverage operations. This key leadership role involves strategic planning, staff management, menu development, and maintaining exceptional service standards. The successful candidate will have a passion for culinary excellence, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering a world-class dining experience. 

Key Responsibilities 

Leadership and Team Management: 

  • Lead and inspire the food and beverage team to deliver exceptional service and uphold the hotel's standards of excellence. 
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff to ensure a highly skilled and motivated team. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement. 

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee day-to-day food and beverage operations, including restaurants, bars, room service, and catering services. 
  • Monitor and manage inventory, procurement, and cost control measures to maximize profitability. 
  • Implement and enforce health and safety standards to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment. 

Guest Satisfaction: 

  • Strive for excellence in guest satisfaction by consistently delivering high-quality food and beverage services. 
  • Address guest feedback and concerns promptly, implementing corrective measures when necessary. 
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless and memorable guest experience. 

Menu Development and Innovation: 

  • Work closely with the culinary team to create innovative and enticing menus that reflect current culinary trends and meet the expectations of our discerning clientele. 
  • Regularly review and update menus to maintain a fresh and dynamic dining experience. 

Financial Management: 

  • Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and revenue targets for the food and beverage department. 
  • Analyze financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement cost-effective measures. 


  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred. 
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the luxury hospitality industry. 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning and costing. 
  • Familiarity with industry trends, customer preferences, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
