Overlooking the Mersey River, the Novotel Devonport boasts an unrivalled waterfront location, unique design, outstanding service and an exciting F&B concept.  

Our signature restaurant, Mr Good Guy, takes you deep into the night markets of Asia, allowing our guests to experience the hawker food found in the backstreets and laneways of South-East Asia in the heart of Devonport. We pride ourselves on our fun, contemporary and authentic menu that showcases local produce and international favourites.

You will join our Food & Beverage team and assist in the smooth operation of our F&B outlets. Your food and beverage knowledge are unrivalled. You are guest obsessed and have built your reputation on delivering exceptional dining experiences with a focus on building a culture of intuitive service that creates special moments for all guests. You will be part of a F&B team that delivers outstanding service across breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as an extensive bar offering and our meetings & events space.


Job Description

  • An unbridled passion for food and a love of sharing your 'food stories' with our patrons. Experience and knowledge of Asian cuisine preferred
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • The confidence to explain our menu to guests with gusto, assisting those with special dietary needs or preferences as well as providing enthusiastic assistance when recommending wine and beverages
  • An ability to find the "Yes" in every situation
  • A passion for maximising sales opportunities by upselling items
  • A calm nature in the midst of a fast-paced environment
  • The necessary skills to actively resolve complaints and challenges presented by customers.
  • A team player with the ability to assist in all areas of F&B operations during peak times
  • The drive to make Mr Good Guy a destination restaurant for South East Asian cuisine in Devonport!

Qualifications

  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience
  • Your Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
  • The ability and flexibility to work various rostered shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends
