Job Description

We are seeking a highly capable and commercially minded Financial Controller who is responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the Finance Function, to maximise profitability and overall financial performance.

The primary function is to maintain control over income, expenses and assets of the business in compliance with company policies and procedures, as well local requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the General Manager and Hotel Leadership to support financial strategy, performance, and decision-making
  • Deliver accurate and timely weekly, monthly, and annual financial report to Accor and ownership groups
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning processes
  • Oversee payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with legislative requirements
  • Provide financial guidance on Management Agreements, Owners Corporation matters, and HMA compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, controls, policies, and reporting processes
  • Support department heads with financial analysis, reporting, and commercial insights to improve profitability
  • Ensure compliance with Accor financial policies, WH&S obligations, and all relevant statutory and legislative requirements

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Understanding of state and federal legislation for tax, superannuation, long service leave and National Employment Standards
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the Hospitality Industry
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, compliance obligations, and statutory reporting 
  • Proficiency in accounting and payroll systems; experience with Sunsystems, PurchasePlus and OperaCloud is highly regarded
  • High attention to detail, strong commercial mindset, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Willingness to undergo a State Police Check as part of the recruitment process
