We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Controller to oversee the finance function for 2 iconic properties in Kakadu National Park. This role is based in Darwin and reports to the Hotel General Managers, Accor Regional Financial Controller, and Kakadu Tourism Asset Manager.


Job Description

  • Oversee financial operations for 2 properties (Cooinda Lodge Kakadu & Mercure Crocodile Hotel), including accounting, payroll, AP/AR, cashflow, and compliance with Accor standards.

  • Prepare and deliver financial reporting : end of month actuals, forecasts, Board reports and presentations, statutory returns (BAS, payroll tax, FBT, income tax) and annual budgets.

  • Provide strategic support to Hotel General Managers, offering advice on cost control, revenue analysis, financial modelling, and capital expenditure management.

  • Maintain internal controls : ensure adherence to company policies, legislative requirements, and accurate maintenance of fixed asset registers and capital works reporting.

  • Lead and develop the finance team across both properties, ensuring effective communication and mentoring of direct reports.


Qualifications

  • Professional accounting qualifications (CA or CPA) with tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance/Commerce.

  • Significant hospitality finance experience (minimum 5 years in a similar role) with strong understanding of hotel operations.

  • Expertise in financial reporting and systems : including OneStream, Purchase Plus, Sun, Opera/Micros and advanced Excel modelling skills (VBA desirable).

  • Strong knowledge of statutory requirements : BAS, payroll tax, superannuation, FBT, income tax and annual financial statements.

  • Leadership and communication skills to manage multi-site teams remotely, liaise with senior stakeholders, and deliver accurate and timely information.
