Job Description

We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Executive to join our dynamic team in Novotel Johor Bahru City Centre. In this pivotal role, you'll take ownership of critical financial operations, driving accuracy, compliance, and strategic insights that directly impact our organization's success. As a Finance Executive, you'll combine your technical expertise with collaborative problem-solving to optimize financial processes, support informed decision-making, and foster a culture of transparency and continuous improvement across the finance function. 

  • Analyze financial transactions, statements, and reports to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process optimization and cost efficiency
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports and analyses that communicate progress, highlight adverse trends, and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership
  • Manage accounts receivable and payable functions, including processing transactions, investigating collection issues, and coordinating with stakeholders to resolve outstanding accounts
  • Develop and recommend operating policies, procedures, and best practices for the finance department to ensure compliance with established standards and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate efforts in resolving financial problems and maintaining effective liaison between departments
  • Conduct credit policy reviews and make informed recommendations regarding credit decisions, write-offs, and allowances based on thorough analysis
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with current financial practices, accounting standards, and organizational policies; stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry updates
  • Plan and schedule financial work to ensure proper distribution of assignments, adequate resource allocation, and timely completion of deliverables
  • Utilize accounting software and financial tools to maintain accurate records, process transactions efficiently, and generate timely reports
  • Support budget planning, forecasting, and variance analysis to help the organization achieve its financial goals and objectives
  • Identify and assess financial risks, implementing appropriate controls and mitigation strategies to safeguard organizational assets

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or similar financial operations role
  • Strong proficiency in accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, data analysis, and pivot tables
  • Demonstrated expertise in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or general ledger management
  • Solid understanding of credit policies, collection procedures, and financial compliance requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to prepare clear, concise financial reports
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and compliance in all financial matters
  • Proficiency in financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
  • Preferred: Knowledge of financial risk assessment and internal control frameworks
