Job Description

The Family Recreation Specialist is responsible for designing, coordinating, and leading engaging, high-end recreational experiences for families and children staying at the hotel. This role ensures all activities align with the hotel’s luxury brand standards, delivering exceptional guest experiences that promote family bonding, well-being, and enjoyment in a safe, elegant, and welcoming environment.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement a wide range of luxury-standard recreational activities tailored for families, children, and multigenerational guests.
  • Incorporate cultural, wellness, adventure, and creative experiences aligned with the hotel’s brand and location.
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the kid’s club.
  • Supervise and train kids club staff to ensure they deliver high-quality care and activities.
  • Monitor attendance and ensure appropriate staff-to-child ratios at all times.
  • Oversee cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the kid’s club area.
  • Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities.
  • Organize themed events, educational programs, and interactive sessions to keep children entertained and stimulated.
  • Ensure activities are inclusive and cater to children of different age groups and abilities.
  • Enforce safety and security measures to create a safe environment for children.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Handle emergencies and incidents calmly and effectively, following established protocols.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and guardians, addressing concern promptly and professionally.
  • Communicate daily updates, activity schedules and other information to families.
  • Gather feedback to improve kids club services and offering.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and daily activities.
  • Assist in scheduling staff shifts and ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Monitor supplies and coordinate with management for replenishment needs.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Good English language verbal communication skills.  French speaking ability is also preferred. 
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers and managers as part of a team and positively lead and motivate the kids club attendant to consistently deliver excellent service.
  • Ability to be attentive to kids needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Desire to provide phenomenal experiences for all kids.

Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience working in a kid’s club, children, or recreational facility, with leadership or supervisory experience.
