Job Description

Fairmont Gold Supervisor
Reliable and engaging. As a Fairmont Gold Supervisor, you will demonstrate the essence of creating an exceptional guest journey. You are committed to taking care of our guests from the moment they arrive at Fairmont Vancouver Airport, through to their departure, by ensuring they have a memorable experience with us.

What you will be doing:

  • Consistently offer friendly, professional and proactive guest service
  • Lead and supervise the Fairmont Gold floor to ensure standards are adhered to
  • Handle guest concerns and react quickly, tracking and notifying proper areas to guarantee memorable moments for our guests
  • Setup and oversee Food & Beverage offerings in Fairmont Gold Lounge, anticipate and communicate replenishment needs promptly
  • Excellent knowledge of Food & Beverage offerings and cater to guests' preferences and special dietary requests
  • Monitor Fairmont Gold Lounge for appropriate ambience, service, safety and wellbeing of guests
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentable condition of serving tools, tables and both front & back of house areas
  • Review all Fairmont Gold reservations to ensure guest requests are met or exceeded
  • Provide exceptional Concierge information about local and area attractions
  • Develop and maintain strong guest relationships to ensure Fairmont Gold loyalty
  • Ensure the highest possible revenues and rate integrity for Fairmont Gold rooms, working with the Front Office team on daily upsell programs
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety policies, including knowledge of Food Safety & hygiene standards
  • All other duties as assigned

     


Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Service focused personality is essential with a minimum 2 years' experience in Front Office or Food & Beverage is an asset
  • Previous experience in luxury guest service a strong asset
  • Serving It Right and Food Safe Level 1 Certification will be required upon hiring
  • Prior experience working with Opera or a related Property Management system is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities and the ability to lead by example
  • Knowledge of Metro Vancouver activities and attractions
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, and professional appearance 
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently and cohesively as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Computer literate in all Microsoft Window applications required
  • Highly responsible and reliable 
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including early morning (5am) and late night
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
  • As a condition of your employment, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide appropriate proof of vaccination to the hotel prior to your start date

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.  The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
