Job Description

Basic Function

The Waiter at Fairmont Ramla is play a vital role in enhancing the dining experience for restaurant patrons by taking orders, serving meals, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Successful waiters possess endurance, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills, allowing them to meet customer needs effectively.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Greet customers warmly and hand out menus.
  • Take meal and beverage orders from customers and accurately relay them to the kitchen.
  • Make menu recommendations and inform patrons of any specials available.
  • Deliver meals and beverages to tables or rooms promptly once prepared.
  • Check in with guests to ensure they are satisfied with their meal.
  • Prepare the bill for tables or rooms when requested.
  • Cash up bills, ensuring the correct amount is received, and administer change if necessary.
  • Exhibit the endurance to walk and stand for long hours during shifts.
  • Maintain flexible work hours to accommodate varying restaurant demands.
  • Remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult customers.
  • Display excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive guest interactions.
  • Demonstrate the coordination needed to carry plates or trays without dropping anything.

Qualifications

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma or certificate in Hospitality or Hotel Management is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Waiter or in a Food & Beverage service role, preferably in a hotel or upscale restaurant.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Good command of spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Physically fit with the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely carry trays and service equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash handling is an advantage

Reporting & Administration:

  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis to senior management.
  • Track and manage sales leads and opportunities using CRM systems (e.g., Opera, Salesforce, Delphi).
  • Ensure accurate records of all client interactions, leads, and bookings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, competitor offerings, and industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree or industry certifications (e.g., CHME, CMP) is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in sales within the luxury hotel or hospitality industry, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing key accounts.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional sales and negotiation skills, particularly within the luxury market.
    • Strong understanding of the hotel industry, including MICE and leisure segments.
    • Proficiency in CRM systems, hotel sales software (e.g., Opera, Delphi), and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Fluent in English; additional languages are highly desirable.
    • Ability to think strategically and creatively, with excellent problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with flexibility for evening and weekend work, depending on client needs and industry events.
  • Travel may be required to meet with clients or attend industry events.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet sales targets in a competitive environment.
