Job Description

Pullman Maamutaa, Maldives is seeking a visionary and innovative Executive Chef to lead our culinary team in creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our food and beverage operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality, creativity, and guest satisfaction.

  • Develop and implement innovative menu concepts across all dining outlets, incorporating local and international flavors
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of culinary professionals, fostering a collaborative and goal-oriented kitchen environment
  • Manage food cost, inventory, and budgeting to maintain profitability while ensuring top-quality ingredients
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Collaborate with the management team to enhance overall guest experience and drive food and beverage revenue
  • Oversee food presentation and quality control for all culinary outlets
  • Implement and maintain sustainable and eco-friendly culinary practices
  • Engage with guests to gather feedback and continuously improve dining experiences
  • Stay current with culinary trends and incorporate them into menu offerings
  • Participate in food promotions, special events, and marketing initiatives

Qualifications

  • Maldives or Similar Island Experience in Asia essential.
  • Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized culinary institution
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in high-end luxury resorts, with previous experience as an Executive Chef.
  • Proven track record of menu development, food cost control, and inventory management
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a large culinary team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in culinary software and point-of-sale systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of international cuisines and current culinary trends
  • Understanding of dietary restrictions, food allergies, and specialized meal preparation
  • Food Safety Certification and thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills
  • Creativity in dish conceptualization and presentation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Willingness to relocate to the Maldives
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus
