Job Description

Engineering Storekeeper

The Engineering Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient operation of the engineering store by overseeing the receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation of engineering materials and equipment. They ensure that the store operates smoothly to meet the needs of engineering projects and maintenance activities.

  • Receive incoming engineering materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Verify quantities and quality of items received against purchase orders or specifications.
  • Organize and maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate stock levels for ongoing engineering projects and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize loss, damage, or theft.
  • Properly store engineering materials and equipment to prevent damage or deterioration.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the store area.
  • Fulfill requests for engineering materials and equipment from various departments or project teams.
  • Prepare and pack items for distribution, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Record all transactions accurately using inventory management software or manual systems.
  • Maintain detailed records of inventory transactions, including receipts, issuances, and returns.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for procurement activities, including requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Inspect incoming materials for quality and conformity to specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the storage and handling of engineering materials and equipment.
  • Follow proper procedures for hazardous materials and substances.

Qualifications

  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Knowledge of spare parts management, hotel spare parts, equipment knowledge, mechanical and electrical systems and HVAC systems and BMS all the materials knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Store Management.
  • Four/Two years engineering university graduate (Mechanical or Electrical/Electronical Engineering) or equivalent desirable.
  • Proven experience as a storekeeper or similar role, preferably in an engineering or technical environment.
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations related to storage and handling of materials.
  • Physical stamina for lifting and moving heavy items.
