Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Duty Manager to join our team in Mysuru, India. As a Duty Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and maintaining the highest standards of service.

  • Coordinate and direct various services related to shift operations, ensuring smooth and efficient hotel functioning
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and accurate service to all guests, maximising customer satisfaction
  • Ensure the safety and security of guests, visitors, and employees by working closely with hotel security personnel
  • Optimise room inventory usage through monitoring, control, and feedback to support departments
  • Oversee emergency operations to minimise hotel losses and liability
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and operational standards by all departmental employees
  • Prepare daily written reports summarising activities and operations during your shift for senior management
  • Resolve guest complaints promptly and effectively, taking appropriate actions to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Handle interactions with government officials, press, and other external stakeholders as needed
  • Authorise payments and open stores in case of emergencies
  • Implement and maintain energy-saving policies throughout the hotel
  • Supervise and motivate staff, providing guidance and support as necessary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field (preferred)
  • 5-7 years of experience in a 4-5 star hotel, with a proven track record in management roles
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and decisiveness in handling complex situations
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and systems
  • Thorough knowledge of hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, and food and beverage services
  • Familiarity with company documentation and operational standards
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in the hospitality industry
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Resilience and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous
