Job Description

Scope and Objectives 

To supervise, manage and execution of various task operation, inspection and maintenance of the various system in the hotel to ensure safe and reliable operation additionally to ensure highest level of guest satisfaction.


Qualifications

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability  

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Complete maintenance work orders from all departments on a timely basis by following hotels standard operating procedures.
  • Perform day-to-day routine and preventative maintenance within the hotel rooms and public areas.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to any maintenance calls that arise either by the guest or other departments.
  • Respond courteously to guest requests promptly and resolve matters to the guest’s satisfaction.
  • Able to prioritise the maintenance issues e.g.: to attend the breakdown of plant and machinery on priority.
  • 6Perform maintenance activities in the guest rooms and public areas including electrical equipment, plumbing and Air conditioning etc.
  • Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment.
  • To monitor fire Alarm / Life Safety System systems as necessary, to be fully informed of the system operation and to handle emergencies involving the systems.
  • Understand and operate electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and water systems.
  • Communicate with different departments and to provide them with information and assistance.
  • Able to use your wits and technical abilities to solve problems and make repairs effectively and efficiently.
  • Able to maintain a daily logbook of work done during the shift.
  • Able to delegate duties to the Engineering team leaders, Ken fix-it and other technicians.
  • Able to complete the daily checklist before handing over the shift.
  • Able to look after the smooth functioning of all machinery and equipment.
  • Able give proper handover to the next shift and also take regular briefing of the shift staff.
  • Enter all guest complaints and back of the house complaints as soon as they are received at the engineering control desk log book.
  • Execute the preventative maintenance schedule and ensure all equipment and designated areas are maintained to the required standard.
  • Maintain all tools, equipment, and working areas in good condition.
  • Maintain the engineering working area and control desk in a good condition always.
  • Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Train and instruct other members of the staff through sharing of knowledge and skills.
  • Attend all firefighting classes and to obtain a thorough knowledge of firefighting appliances.
  • Perform any other job assigned by the management as and when required

Additional Information

Qualification Standards Education

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • At least 2-year college (associate) degree preferred.

 

Experience

Five years’ experience in the same field in hospitality.

 

Licenses or Certificates

Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate. CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred. Any licenses or permits that may be required by law or company regulations, such as an Electrician's license.
