Job Description

DIRECTOR, PEOPLE & CULTURE 

Are you a visionary People & Culture leader with a passion for building high-performing teams, shaping an exceptional workplace culture, and elevating the employee experience? Join Fairmont Hotel Vancouver as a key member of our Executive Committee, where you will lead all People & Culture initiatives within a world-class luxury hotel environment.

Your Impact

  • Act as a strategic partner to the Executive Committee, aligning People & Culture strategies with business goals.
  • Lead the People & Culture team, fostering professional development and high performance.
  • Drive talent management, colleague engagement, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Champion positive labor relations, proactively managing union interactions and colleague relations.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian and BC employment legislation, policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Shape and promote Fairmont’s Service and Brand Culture, creating a workplace where people thrive.

Qualifications

You Bring

  • 7–10 years of senior People & Culture/HR experience, with proven success in unionized settings.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to influence and partner with executives across the business.
  • Passion for developing culture, engagement, and programs that drive business results.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment law, BC employment standards, and labor relations.
  • University/College degree in HR, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Visa Requirements:
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
