Job Description

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Director of Security to join our esteemed organisation in the beautiful island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. This pivotal leadership role will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests, staff, and assets across our properties.

  • Develop and implement robust security policies, procedures, and protocols for all properties
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and devise mitigation strategies to address potential security threats
  • Oversee the management, training, and development of security personnel
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and government agencies to ensure compliance with Vietnamese security regulations
  • Manage security budgets and allocate resources effectively
  • Implement and maintain state-of-the-art security technologies and surveillance systems
  • Lead crisis management efforts and coordinate emergency response procedures
  • Provide regular security briefings and analytical reports to senior management
  • Ensure all security measures align with our organisation's standards and local cultural sensitivities
  • Stay informed about global security trends and best practices in hospitality security
  • Foster a culture of security awareness and customer-focused service among all staff members
  • Develop innovative solutions to enhance security measures while maintaining a welcoming environment for guests

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field
  • Advanced security certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in security management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record in managing security operations for hospitality or tourism properties
  • Extensive knowledge of security management systems, risk assessment, and crisis management
  • Strong understanding of international security standards and Vietnamese regulations
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate large teams
  • Proficiency in utilising and managing advanced security technologies and surveillance systems
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, staff, and stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management and resource allocation
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Vietnamese is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with local culture and customs in Phu Quoc and Vietnam
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make decisive actions based on data-driven insights
  • Visionary approach to security management, balancing caution with innovation
  • Organised and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on achieving security goals
  • Adaptability to work in a dynamic island environment and collaborate across various departments
