Job Description

Director of Security

Are you a dynamic and vigilant leader who can bring a sense of safety and security to our guests and hotel premises? As a Director of Security, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and security of our guests, colleagues, and premises. You'll help create a warm and welcoming environment where our guests feel safe and valued.

    What you will be doing:

    • Oversee and manage all hotel security operations, ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and visitors at all times.
    • Develop and implement security policies and procedures, ensuring they align with the brand standards and local regulations.
    • Lead, train, and manage the security team to maintain the highest level of vigilance and professionalism.
    • Establish and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring readiness for any potential incidents, emergencies, or crises.
    • Work with local law enforcement and emergency services to ensure effective collaboration during any security-related incidents.
    • Conduct risk assessments and threat analyses to proactively address vulnerabilities and prevent security breaches.
    • Ensure that all security equipment, including surveillance systems, alarms, and access control systems, is regularly maintained and fully operational.
    • Monitor security operations, including guest and employee safety, property surveillance, and incident reports, to ensure compliance with safety standards.
    • Manage the security budget, ensuring cost-effective measures while maintaining high standards of security.
    • Collaborate with the hotel’s leadership team to enhance guest experiences, ensuring that safety measures do not disrupt or detract from the hospitality experience.
    • Stay current with the latest industry trends, regulations, and technologies to implement best practices in security.
    • Be fully conversant of current local laws and regulations as they relate to the hotel, particularly in the area of guests, patrons and employees’ rights.

    Qualifications

    Your experience and skills include:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Security management, with at least 3 years in a Director-level role, ideally in a 5 star hotel environment.
    • Experience working in a truly global work environment is essential.
    • Extensive knowledge of security management systems, crisis response protocols, and emergency procedures.
    • Proven leadership abilities, with experience in building, training, and motivating security teams.
    • Excellent understanding of the security challenges and risks specific to the hospitality industry, including guest safety, employee security, and property protection.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure, remain calm during emergencies, and resolve conflicts with diplomacy and professionalism.
    • Deep knowledge of local laws, regulations, and security standards.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining discretion and confidentiality.
