Job Description

The Director of Sales and Marketing forms part of the Hotel Leadership team who collectively make key strategic and operational decisions for the hotel.  He/she will oversees and directs all sales & marketing activities with the support of teams including sales, marketing, catering, advertising, and public relations for the hotel and ensures that all activities and bookings are focused to yield maximum revenue per room occupied.

You will be one of the principal pillars of the hotel, passionately and enthusiastically directing day-to-day activities of the sales & marketing team by inspiring and coaching them to drive results. Further you will drive the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget, the hotel sales & marketing business plan.

As Director of Sales & Marketing you will be involved in forecasting with the Director of Revenue. You represent the hotel at trade shows and major industry events, locally and Internationally, to promote new business and increase awareness for the hotel.

  • Establish annual budget, marketing plan and actions plans, with measurable objectives to achieve revenue and profit goals outlined in the annual business plan.
  • Maintain complete and supported records of all commercial agreements, contract, and quotes for the hotel as per Sofitel Luxury hotels Policies and Procedures.
  • Set individual sales goals / targets / KPI’s by segments and by managers and executives, track, and review productivity on a monthly, quarterly basis.
  • Direct, and coordinate sales team’s activities to secure new and repeat business to achieve and exceed budget.
  • Track, measure and analyze the productivity of the S&M team to achieve and exceed goals.
  • Maintain a perpetual analysis of key accounts in the Dubai city market and group movements in the region. To have a thorough knowledge of the competition set activities in terms of sales and actions plans.
  • Obtain and maintain an awareness of community, business, political and social factors which may affect hotel’s financial objectives.
  • Ensure that room and banquet space inventories are reviewed bi-monthly and strategies are formulated to fill low occupancy periods.
  • Ensure that utilization of various technology and software is maximized, and that clean data are maintained at all times.
  • To ensure that all employees are treated fairly and consistently as outlined in their terms and conditions of employment, local legislation, and company / hotel policies and procedures.
  • To undertake duties of the Manager on Duty and Weekend Duty as dictated by the Hotel’s policy
  • Direct the digital marketing team to execute events and marketing initiatives 
  • Guide the Marketing team to develop and execute social media content and engagement strategy supporting Hotel marketing campaigns 
  • Direct the team on Communications & Revenue in Digital Marketing initiatives (SEO / SEM strategy, Paid Social Media campaigns, Pay per Click, etc.)
