The Sofitel Brisbane Central is centrally located within the heart of Brisbane city. 416 elegantly appointed rooms and suites are complemented by the finest personal luxuries to make this one of Brisbane’s best accommodation experiences. The hotel features various food and beverage outlets, two fitness centres, a day spa and fully flexible event spaces for up to 1100 delegates.
The Director of Sales and Marketing is a key member of the hotel’s Executive team and leads the hotel’s strategy on both marketing and selling this renowned luxury Brisbane property. This role is suited to a highly experienced individual with exceptional leadership skills, sales acumen, and a deep understanding of the luxury hotel market.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop Sales & Marketing strategies across domestic and international markets with a focus on brand and business growth
- Lead, mentor, and support the Sales & Marketing team, ensuring they meet individual and team targets while leading recruitment, training, and performance enhancement
- Set and meet the budgets set for both the Sales and Marketing / Conference and Events Sales departments
- Monitor and adapt Sales & Marketing strategies in response to market trends, competitive insights, and economic conditions to maximise occupancy, RevPAR, and overall market share.
- Prepare sales reports, track KPIs, forecast Meetings & Events revenue, adjust strategies, and provide insights to the Executive team and General Manager to ensure revenue targets are met
- Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote the property and generate leads
- Organise and participate in sales trips, client meetings, and promotional activities to enhance the hotel’s visibility and attract new business.
- Significant experience in Sales and Marketing within luxury hotels
- Demonstrated ability to source and convert key business opportunities
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field
- Strategic thinker, pro-active and focused on achieving results
- Full knowledge of marketing streams, digital and social media
- Ability to lead, supervise and coordinate a multi-skilled team
- Passionate for luxury and knowledgeable about opportunities in the segment
- Proficiency in hotel management systems and software
- Well-refined sales techniques, customer relationship management, communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
- Problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
