Job Description

As Director of Marketing, you will not just execute campaigns, you will set vision, strategy, and standards of excellence that align with our repositioning and luxury brand promise. Your leadership will maximize impact, drive accountability, and foster innovation.  

This is an on-site, Jasper-based leadership role requiring presence at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge to foster collaboration, team development, and integration across hotel departments. 

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Strategic Leadership 

  • Lead the resort’s marketing strategy and cascade it across all marketing touchpoints, ensuring clarity, consistency, and measurable execution. 
  • Translate the resort’s repositioning vision into actionable annual/quarterly marketing plans with clear KPIs. 
  • Anticipate market trends, guest sentiment, and competitor positioning, using insights to adjust strategy proactively. 

Leadership Presence & Cross-Department Collaboration 

  • Manage and mentor a small, high-impact team; set expectations for accountability, initiative, and proactive communication. 
  • Work closely with Sales, PR, Revenue, and Operations to align on priorities and ensure seamless guest experience delivery. 
  • Serves as a role model of collaboration and humility, demonstrating that luxury is delivered through teamwork, reinforcing that how we work together is as important as the results we deliver. 
  • Leads by example in accountability, communication, and professionalism, setting the tone for other hotel departments. 
  • Builds trust and credibility across departments by being transparent, approachable, and solution-focused. 
  • Acts as a steward of the hotel’s reputation internally as well as externally,  

Brand & Campaign Oversight 

  • Serve as the brand guardian for the resort’s repositioning, ensuring all creative, collateral, and activations reflect luxury positioning and Fairmont Brand Standards. 
  • Provide direction to external agencies and internal stakeholders where required to deliver campaigns that are strategic and measurable, not just tactical. 
  • Prioritize quality over quantity in project execution, focusing resources on initiatives that elevate brand value and revenue impact. 

Partnerships & Market Presence 

  • Build and nurture high-value partnerships that strengthen the repositioning and extend market reach. 
  • Represent the Lodge in regional tourism organizations and DMOs, positioning the property as a leader in the industry. 

Digital & Guest Engagement 

  • In collaboration with Canada’s Western Mountain Collection digital marketing team, oversee digital marketing and social media strategies, ensuring they meet KPIs including driving measurable bookings and engagement. 
  • Optimize the hotel website and digital campaigns with a focus on luxury guest experience and conversion. 

Accountability & Measurement 

  • Prepare, manage, and own the marketing budget in partnership with DOSM, with a focus on ROI and strategic investments. 
  • Define and track KPIs for all campaigns, ensuring results are shared transparently with leadership. 
  • Create consistent updates to the Executive Team on progress towards marketing KPIs. 

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in senior-level marketing leadership within luxury hospitality or related industries. 
  • Experience leading a repositioning or brand evolution project, with measurable success. 
  • Strong financial acumen with ability to link marketing strategy to revenue performance. 
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills, able to drive alignment across multiple stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a small team into high performers. 
  • Adept at balancing long-term strategic focus with short-term tactical execution. 
  • Degree in Marketing, Business, or Hotel Management; luxury brand experience preferred. 
  • Willingness to travel and work flexibly based on business needs. 
  • Must be based in Jasper, Alberta, or willing to relocate. Living on property is essential to authentically lead and deliver events that represent Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge’s story. 

Additional Information

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
