Job Description

Rixos Hotels is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to join the leadership team at Rixos Phu Quoc. This is a key executive role responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, controls, and compliance of the resort while supporting the General Manager and ownership in driving sustainable business performance.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in the pre-opening and operational phases, ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and alignment with Rixos brand standards and owner expectations.

Financial Strategy & Planning

  • Prepare and manage the annual operating budget, working capital requirements, and financial projections.

  • Develop cash flow forecasts and implement robust cash management controls.

  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and recommend corrective actions where required.

  • Produce and issue the monthly financial reports and other financial documentation required by Rixos and ownership.

Financial Control & Compliance

  • Ensure all accounting procedures and internal controls comply with Rixos policies, corporate standards, and local regulations.

  • Supervise financial processes including purchasing, disbursements, payroll, and expense management.

  • Oversee the preparation and timely submission of tax filings and statutory reports to government authorities and ownership entities.

  • Maintain up-to-date records of leases, contracts, licenses, permits, insurance, and mortgage documentation, ensuring full compliance.

Owner & Corporate Reporting

  • Maintain regular reconciliation with ownership regarding the approved annual budget and financial performance.

  • Provide updates to the Regional Finance Office on project milestones and operational readiness.

  • Ensure all financial reporting requirements to both ownership and Rixos corporate offices are completed accurately and on time.

Operational & Departmental Support

  • Partner closely with department heads to monitor expenses and revenue opportunities.

  • Conduct financial reviews of departmental performance and investigate variances or unusual transactions.

  • Work collaboratively across all departments to support sound financial decision-making and cost management.

 

  • Ensure full compliance with the hotel management agreement and all contractual obligations.

Credit & Asset Management

  • Oversee credit management processes to minimise outstanding balances and potential losses.

  • Participate actively in credit meetings and financial risk management discussions.

  • Supervise inventory counts and fixed asset verification processes.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, train, and develop the Finance and Accounting team.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.

  • Promote strong teamwork and cross-departmental cooperation across the resort.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience as Director of Finance in an international luxury hotel or resort environment.

  • Strong understanding of hospitality finance, pre-opening processes, and hotel management agreements.

  • Solid local knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, and regulatory compliance.

  • Experience working with owners and corporate finance teams in an international hospitality group.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to operate strategically while maintaining strong attention to operational detail.
