Batman's Hill on Collins is a 4-star Accor hotel in Melbourne, offering an ideal city stay for corporate, leisure and group travel guests. We are conveniently located in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, right opposite Southern Cross Station with easy access to public transport. Along with 190 guest rooms, we offer our guests and visitors a restaurant, lounge bar, in-room dining, and a fully equipped conference centre with multiple function spaces.
We are looking for a skilled and versatile part-time Demi Chef to join our culinary team at Batman’s Hill on Collins – an Accor hotel. Proven experience in a hotel environment, full working rights in Australia, and the ability to manage early starts are required. Offering the award rate of $29.88 per hour plus applicable penalty rates, this permanent part-time role offers a great development opportunity to grow your skills and confidence in a busy hotel right in the heart of Melbourne, and to become part of the Accor group.
- Food preparation for breakfast, lunch, dinner and function services
- Prepare and cook breakfast with consistency and care, offering daily full buffet breakfast for up to 140 guests
- Interact with guests, ensuring excellent customer service and memorable dining experiences
- Maintain high standards of presentation, and cooking techniques
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and fully stocked
- Manage prep, stock rotation, and receiving deliveries
- Maintain excellent food safety and hygiene standards
- Foster a positive work environment focused on continuous learning and quality improvement
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with front-of-house staff
- You must have full Australian working rights - sponsorship is not available
- Proven experience as a Demi Chef - hotel experience would be an advantage
- Available to work a rotating roster Monday to Sunday - breakfast shift starts from 5:30am
- Expect to work around 30 hours per week
- Ability to work independently and handle service solo when required
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to hygiene, safety standards, and food handling regulations
