The lodge provides a variety of accommodations, including lodge rooms, eco-tents, and camping sites, along with amenities such as two swimming pools, restaurants, bars, a general store, and access to Yellow Water Cruises and the Warradjan Cultural Centre

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Demi Chef to join our kitchen team. This role requires flexibility, initiative, and a passion for delivering high-quality dishes in a remote lodge environment. The successful candidate will assist the Head and Sous Chef in running a busy kitchen efficiently, maintaining high standards, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Sponsorship is available for the successful employee, with a clear pathway for career growth and progression to higher chef roles within the lodge.


Job Description

  • Organise and manage your kitchen section efficiently, ensuring high-quality menu preparation and presentation.

  • Assist with ordering, stock control, and minimising waste while maintaining hygiene standards.

  • Collaborate with the team across all kitchen sections and the Food & Beverage team to ensure smooth operations.

  • Prepare staff meals and ensure all work areas and equipment are clean, maintained, and ready for service.


Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Previous successful experience as a Demi Chef or similar kitchen role.

  • Trade qualification in cookery or equivalent.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, versatile team.

  • Flexibility to adapt to the unique challenges of a remote lodge environment.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of food safety, stock control, and kitchen hygiene standards.
