Our Hotel
The Sydney Boulevard Hotel, a classic establishment near Sydney’s CBD, boasts 275 well-appointed guest rooms, 2 food and beverage outlets, and 11 function rooms.
We are dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high operational standards.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Part-time or Casual PM Cook to join our team, support our Kitchen team, and help ensure guest requirements are always met with exceptional service.
Job Description
What you will be doing/ Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Breakfast, room service, and bar food orders
- Prepare and ensure the availability of mis en place as required.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment whilst ensuring a product of high quality and presentation standards.
- Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage.
- Ensure your area of the kitchen is cleaned to the highest standards
- Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned. Report any problems to the Head Chef.
- Receive deliveries, unpack produce and store stock.
- General Kitchen cleaning tasks.
- Attend briefings and meetings as required.
- Openly communicate during regular briefings ensuring all relevant information is passed on.
- Use Department Procedure Manuals as a base for all service procedures training.
- Complete all mandatory training through Accor Academy ‘Learn Your Way’ & and other similar training platforms.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- The ability to work a flexible 7-day roster.
- Interest in cooking.
- Experience in the food industry preferred.
- Creative and passionate about food and customer service
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
- Service-oriented with an eye for detail.
- Multicultural awareness and able to work with people from diverse cultures.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrated initiative in a dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated and energetic.
- Strong focus and passion for hotel operations
- Time management skills with the ability to multitask
- Strong personal integrity
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of team members
- Flexible and able to embrace and respond effectively to change
- Food Handling Certificate Required
- Cooking Qualification Ideal
