Job Description

At the Fairmont Banff Springs, our engaging service and delicious cuisine make every special event a truly memorable affair, both within our distinctive surroundings and off-site. Your vision and leadership as Conference Services and Catering Coordinator will ensure an engaged team, efficient operations – and service that exceed the expectations of every client.

Competitive Salary: $55,000-$58,000 gross annually, based on previous experience & education

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Conference Services, responsibilities and essential job functions include but not limited to the following:

  • Maintain good working relationships with all departments
  • Ensure that the equipment and general work area is maintained to a high standard, including desks, filing cabinets and supplies
  • Conduct follow up preparation of information concerning all catering and conference related functions for hotel staff (preparation and delivery)
  • Answer direct telephone inquiries or redirect inquiries to proper individuals
  • Coordinate all internal meetings and internal function, complete banquet event orders accordingly, and coordinate all People and Culture Events.
  • Provide information to the public regarding booking conventions, catering functions and weddings
  • Be responsible for ordering stationary supplies for the department
  • Assist the Director and Managers in the department in producing agendas, handling inquiries and files
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Experience in an office setting is an asset
  • Hotel/Hospitality Management program an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Sales & Catering experience an asset
  • 60 wpm typing 
  • Be able to work in a fast paced work environment and be able to multitask
  • Strong communication skills – written and spoken are essential
  • Adaptable to change
