Under the general guidance of the Head Concierge, and in the absence of the Head Concierge or Assistant Head Concierge, oversees and directs all aspects of the Concierge Department's operations. As a team member, continually strives to deliver the highest quality of service to guests while adhering to all legal rules, regulations, and hotel guidelines, in alignment with Sofitel's vision and brand standards.
Responsibilities
- Reports directly to and communicates with the Head Concierge and Assistant Head Concierge regarding all pertinent matters affecting guest service and Concierge Department operations.
- Responds to a wide variety of guest requests by accurately assessing their needs and then adding personal recommendations and touches to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all Sofitel standards.
- Stays well-informed of new restaurant openings and other relevant information in London, sharing updates with the team.
- Is knowledgeable about activities available in the city (theatre, sports, concerts, shows, special exhibits, sightseeing) and establishes close contacts with vendors in these areas to provide information, ticketing, and reservations for guests.
- Assists guests with, but not limited to, theatre, airline, and rail tickets, as well as tour and restaurant reservations.
- Takes responsibility for the receipt, storage, and shipment of guest baggage, including the shipping of lost property left behind at the hotel.
- Arranges transportation and other services offered by the hotel that require outside assistance.
- Handles guest services such as mail, postage, and messages.
- Arranges for outside errands requested by guests.
- Manages vehicle parking for guests when requested.
- Provides functional assistance and direction to Concierge Department personnel.
- Cooperates, coordinates, and communicates with other hotel departments as required.
- Attends to guest queries and needs in a timely manner.
- Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Assists the Head Concierge in assessing procedures and implementing new ideas and solutions.
- Addresses guest feedback in a timely manner and shares relevant information with the Head Concierge.
- Helps the Head Concierge ensure that Concierge Department staff performs assigned tasks effectively.
- Is aware of all activities taking place in the hotel and familiar with daily functions and guest arrivals.
- Ensures that external companies used adhere to Sofitel guidelines whenever possible.
- Ensures the team follows and practices all Sofitel guidelines.
- Conducts spot checks on the team and corrects improper work practices.
- Follows and implements the new S.O.P. guidelines.
THE PERSON
- To be successful, you’ll need a valid UK or European Driver’s License.
- Ability to drive both Manual and Automatic
- Able to work on a rotating schedule, including weekends, public holidays, and night shifts if needed.
- A genuine enthusiasm for delivering exceptional guest service.
- Maintain a professional appearance and communicate clearly with guests and team members alike.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic setting where quick thinking and flexibility are key.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 30kg with ease.
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
- Naturally outgoing and comfortable starting conversations with guests.
- Positive, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a passion for hospitality and a commitment to supporting your team.
