Job Description

Job Summary:

The Cluster Director of Commercial will oversee all commercial activities and strategies for Movenpick Sharm El Sheikh and Mercure Hurghada, ensuring the optimization of revenue and market share across both properties. This role involves the development and execution of sales, marketing, revenue management, and distribution strategies to drive business growth and profitability. The Director will work closely with the leadership teams at both properties, as well as corporate stakeholders, to align commercial initiatives with the overall business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Revenue Strategy & Management:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive revenue management strategies to maximize overall revenue.
    • Optimize pricing, inventory, and distribution channels to ensure the best possible financial performance.
    • Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and demand forecasts to adapt strategies accordingly.
  2. Sales & Marketing Leadership:

    • Lead the sales and marketing teams in developing effective strategies for key segments including corporate, leisure, groups, and MICE.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, partners, and stakeholders.
    • Ensure the successful execution of promotional campaigns, advertising, and brand positioning in local and international markets.
  3. Distribution & Channel Management:

    • Manage online and offline distribution channels, ensuring optimal visibility and presence on OTAs, GDS, direct website, and third-party platforms.
    • Oversee digital marketing strategies including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media to drive direct bookings.
  4. Commercial Strategy Development:

    • Develop annual and quarterly commercial plans with a focus on revenue generation, guest satisfaction, and brand positioning.
    • Analyze and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), business trends, and financial data to inform decision-making.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as operations, finance, and HR to ensure alignment with commercial objectives.
  5. Team Leadership & Development:

    • Mentor and lead the commercial team across both properties, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
    • Provide ongoing training, development, and support to ensure team members achieve their professional goals.
    • Ensure clear communication between departments, providing guidance on commercial priorities.
  6. Market & Competitor Analysis:

    • Conduct regular market analysis to identify new business opportunities and untapped markets.
    • Stay informed on competitor activities, market trends, and economic factors influencing the hospitality industry.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a senior commercial role within the hospitality industry, preferably in luxury or upscale hotel brands, with at least 5 years in a multi-property or cluster role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of revenue management, distribution strategies, and digital marketing.
    • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and drive commercial success.
    • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
    • Familiarity with hospitality technology systems (PMS, CRS, RMS, etc.).
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to adapt to changing market conditions.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel between the two properties as needed.
