Batman's Hill on Collins is a 4-star Accor hotel in Melbourne, offering an ideal city stay for corporate, leisure and group travel guests. We are conveniently located in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, right opposite Southern Cross Station. The hotel features 190 rooms and apartments, a fully equipped conference centre, restaurant and bar.
We are looking for a skilled Chef de Partie to work closely with our Head Chef to create exceptional guest experiences in our restaurant and conference and event spaces. You will have proven experience in a hotel environment, full working rights in Australia, and the ability to lead and mentor a small team. This is a part-time role, offering up to 30 hours per week over breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts Monday to Sunday. Employed under the Hospitality Industry award, your base hourly rate will be $30.68. You must have full working rights in Australia to be considered.
- Running the shift with hands-on cooking and food preparation
- Assist Head Chef and Senior Chef de Partie with menu preparation and ensuring adequate supplies are available for expected service
- Maintain excellent presentation standards and cost control for all food and beverage outlets
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of programs to ensure high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchens
- Be a leader for the team by setting a positive example and supporting continuous learning and collaborative relationships
- Supervision of the shift in the absence of the Head Chef. Lead the junior kitchen team members to ensure service demands are met
- Must have full Australian working rights and availability to work up to 30 hours per week on a rotating roster Monday to Sunday
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the hotel industry
- Relevant Trade Qualification and Food Safety qualification
- Excellent technical knowledge with experience in a variety of cooking techniques
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a small team
- Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills
- Commitment to hygiene, safety standards, and food handling regulations
