The Sebel Quay West Suites Sydney is the embodiment of chic style and sophistication. The hotel is located in The Rocks, close to Circular Quay. A stone’s throw away from the iconic Sydney Opera House with breathtaking views of the of Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. Featuring contemporary one and two-bedroom apartments with first-class amenities, restaurants and bars. Our building is the home to many residents who we provide building services to, and commercial areas.


Job Description

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will have the opportunity to work with native Australian ingredients, premium products, and be part of a team who are striving for excellence and working their way towards earning a Chef’s Hat. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: 

  • Ensuring all food produced is in line with kitchen recipes and standards.
  • Prepare and cook all food orders with a sense of urgency.
  • Check all food is stored and handled as per current food health and hygiene regulations.
  • Monitor daily kitchen food and product requirements and advise the supervisor of these well in advance.
  • Monitors food preparation and wastage costs, control these by following efficient preparation methods and standard recipes.
  • Lead employees by setting a positive example. Instructs and develops apprentices

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Demi Chef.
  • Extensive knowledge on food and beverage practices.
  • Your enthusiasm and passion for food preparation.
  • Extensive knowledge on food safety practices.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and someone who leads by example.
