The Hoxton is on the hunt for a dynamic and self-driven professional to take on a brand-new, hybrid role as our Brand and Business Development Manager at The Hoxton, Downtown LA. Reporting to The Hoxton’s Director of Sales, with close collaboration and dotted line reporting to our National Brand Director, this role is perfect for someone who thrives on independence and can seamlessly navigate a diverse range of responsibilities. You'll be the bridge between our vibrant brand experiences and our strategic sales goals, fostering connections and amplifying The Hoxton story throughout Downtown LA.

 


Job Description

You're a seasoned professional with an infectious can-do attitude and a genuine passion for the Downtown LA hospitality scene. More than that, you're a natural connector – someone who can effortlessly build rapport with anyone, from local partners to our in-house teams. Your professionalism is unwavering, and you intrinsically understand and embody The Hoxton's unique ethos – a blend of laid-back cool, genuine warmth, and sophisticated charm.
You're a true self-starter, highly organized, and an exceptional communicator who can proactively manage your day and prioritize tasks with minimal oversight. You possess a keen eye for detail and the ability to digest information quickly, ensuring projects stay on track and opportunities are maximized.


What Else You'll Do…
This role is a balanced blend of brand activation and sales development, requiring a proactive and agile approach.


Brand Responsibilities
As our key on-the-ground brand ambassador, you'll be instrumental in bringing The Hoxton experience to life. This includes being the primary contact for:
- Activations, Programming, and Events: You'll be the go-to person for executing our exciting calendar of events and activations, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for our guests and partners.
- Local Partnerships & Friendly Meets: You'll actively foster relationships within the Downtown LA community, identifying opportunities for collaboration and enhancing The Hoxton’s local presence.
- Content & Campaign Support:
o Monthly Mailers: Brief our copywriter on upcoming offers, promotions, events, and happenings.
o Quarterly Paid Video Ads: Act as the day-of contact for all on-site filming, ensuring smooth execution as the Director manages pre- and post-production.

oHox Gallery: Liaise directly with our featured Hox Gallery artists, coordinating necessary signage design and production, and taking the lead on the Hox Gallery opening party production and communication.
o Promotional Shoots and Activations: Manage promotional shoots and brand activations, coordinating logistics across multiple locations, delegating within the team as appropriate and ensuring all required materials and collateral are in place for successful execution.
o Event production support: Managing event production and marketing efforts by liaising with internal teams and external partners, managing day-of needs for content capture and ensuring the property is prepared for seamless event delivery.
o Press & Influencer Stays: While the Director manages communications with hosted media, press, and influencers, you'll ensure seamless guest experiences by proactively working with our Front Office and relevant teams of upcoming hosted stays.

Sales & Business Development Responsibilities


You'll be instrumental in identifying and nurturing local business opportunities, driving revenue, and building strong community ties that benefit our sales team.
- Business Funnelling: Identify and cultivate leads from the local business community or events to increase the hotel’s visibility and partnerships.
- Brand-Level Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships within the local community, particularly with neighboring businesses, to ensure The Hoxton is the preferred hotel for their room block needs. Establish at least 7-10 local accounts per month to drive business growth.
- Targeted Prospecting: Conduct outreach to prospective clients from an agreed-upon, guided list from the sales team.
- Networking: Organize 4-8 per month networking opportunities, either by attending local business events, hosting webinars, hosting clients, attending trade shows, and networking functions to connect with potential corporate clients and grow existing relationships.
- Weekly Sales Meetings: Actively participate in weekly sales meetings, providing insights and updates from your local market activities. Liaise with on-site sales and revenue teams to ensure relevant information is shared.
- Client Satisfaction: Maintain a client satisfaction, ensuring a positive experience.
- Market Research: Conduct regular market analyses to identify trends and opportunities for growth in corporate partnerships.
- Develop Proposals: Create Tailored proposals that outline the benefits of partnerships, including pricing, services, and benefits for corporate clients and meeting space.
- Relationship Management: Establish regular check-ins with corporate clients and hotels to ensure all needs are met and proactively address any issues.
- Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement sales strategies that target corporate clients and meeting space, while promoting hotel services.


Qualifications

What we’re looking for…

- You’re obsessed with restaurants and bars, and eager to bring new creative ideas to the literal table.
- Strong grammar, communication and writing skills.
- Strong familiarity with social publishing tools, especially Instagram and Facebook.
- Familiarity with Wordpress and Revinate.
- Hospitality experience a plus. Flexibility a must. This is not 9-5 type of business.
- You get us and feel a natural affinity toward The Hoxton. You already know our hotels and have perhaps hung out in our bar and regretted that last cocktail the next morning.
- You are creatively ambitious and culturally curious; able to see ideas through ideation to execution.
- Enthusiastic, confident, and warm; you’re comfortable representing The Hoxton brand.

The Hoxton, Downtown LA is in a neighborhood that has seen a major revival over the last few years, with some of the city’s best restaurants, shops and bars opening up there and many more in the pipeline. The Hoxton, Downtown LA offers 174 rooms designed by Ennismore Design Studio, a ground floor restaurant with exciting culinary partners, along with a rooftop pool with restaurant and amazing views over Broadway, the historic commercial, theatre and cinema district and one of the oldest streets in the city.

Compensation Range: 70k Annually
