Job Description

Work outdoors in one of the most beautiful places in the world while providing exceptional guest service on Lake Louise. This role combines boathouse operations, canoe rentals, and retail service, with a strong focus on safety, guest flow, and physical work.

Pay Rate: $19.47/hour

Start Date: May 25th, 2026

Contract Type: Seasonal 

 

Responsibilities 

· Greet and engage guests in a friendly, professional manner.

· Manage guest lineups, communicate wait times, and enforce rental time limits.

· Assist guests in and out of canoes and provide basic canoeing instructions.

· Continuously monitor guests on the water for safety; report issues to the supervisor.

· Remove unsafe or damaged equipment from service and notify the supervisor.

· Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the boathouse, docks, and retail areas.

· Assist with retail duties: restocking merchandise, receiving product, and conducting inventory checks as required.

· Operate retail tills in a service-focused, non-sales-pressure environment.

· Work in all weather conditions, standing for entire shifts, with lifting and moving of canoes (90+ lbs) as required.

· Assist with special events or other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

· Current CPR and First Aid certification.

· Canadian Boating License (asset).

· Previous guest service, recreation, or outdoor experience preferred.

· Able to work as part of a team and independently as needed.

· Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

· Comfortable working in all weather and performing physically demanding tasks.

 

Physical Requirements

· Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift.

· Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling, bending.

· Able to lift and move canoes (90+ lbs).

You may be required to work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other non-day shifts. Submission of your application to Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise indicates that you are able to meet these requirements as needed.
