Job Description

As the Assistant Night Manager, you will manage the hotel’s nightly operations when the Night Manager is rostered off. Success in this position is ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction, being a responsible and respectful leader to others, and guiding a small team to accurately balance the books during the quietest time of the day.

Night work is not for everyone, but does have advantages – flexibility to do school drop off/pick up, availability to study and the freedom to choose how to spend your days. This role is often underestimated and overlooked, however comes with an above industry award pay rate and special night benefits such as free parking. 

On the job training will be provided, along with support to advance your knowledge with formal study or qualifications if you chose. Create your pathway to a career in Finance, Front Office or Management with Sofitel Brisbane and Accor.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide supervision and support to the night team in the absence of the Night Manager
  • Ensure the hotel auditing process is conducted accurately
  • Deliver luxury service to internal and external guests
  • Ensure the health and safety of all guests, visitors, and employees
  • Process financial transactions and produce reports.

Qualifications

You will excel in this role if you have:

  • Previous experience in a leadership role and a desire to lead by example
  • Knowledge of Finance, Front Office, Reservations, Housekeeping or Guest Services operations
  • The ability to demonstrate versatility in responding to guest requests and situations
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • Cash handling skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Understanding of hotel and financial security procedures and guest confidentiality
  • Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV) and First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Some knowledge of OPERA PMS, Loyalty Platforms, Microsoft Office, Outlook and HotSOS systems is highly advantageous.
