Job Description

  • Achieve the daily targeted number of sales calls with a focus on MICE clients.
  • Develop MICE business leads for the hotel on a weekly basis.
  • Prepare a monthly list of MICE accounts to penetrate for the following month.
  • Plan a minimum of two site inspections or entertainment meetings per week with qualified potential or new MICE accounts.
  • Prepare a monthly action plan for the MICE market segment.
  • Perform a monthly review of MICE account profiles, focusing on room nights production and average rate.
  • Monitor competitors’ MICE rate strategies, account penetration, and marketing activities to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Fully responsible for MICE accounts under your management, including contracting, updating profiles, and renewing contracts.
  • Update management on VIP MICE arrivals and ensure meet and greet arrangements are in place.
  • Up-sell, cross-sell, and promote hotel facilities and services to MICE clients at every available opportunity to maximize sales revenue.
  • Conduct negotiations with MICE clients to achieve the best profit and rates for the hotel.
  • Attend MICE industry events and local community business functions to network and maintain high visibility.
  • Update the Director of Business Development on MICE market trends and business leads.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Tourism / Hospitality Management
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar capacity with proven track records
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
