Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished Assistant Director of Sales, Group & Events to join our dynamic sales team in Istanbul, Türkiye. In this pivotal role, you will drive revenue growth through strategic group and events sales initiatives while leading a dedicated sales team. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies, managing key client relationships, and overseeing the successful delivery of group and events programs. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization's growth trajectory while fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales professionals to achieve and exceed group and events sales targets
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to capture market opportunities in the group and events segment
  • Manage and nurture relationships with key corporate clients, meeting planners, and event organizers
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities and inform business strategy
  • Oversee the negotiation and closure of group and events contracts, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction
  • Coordinate with operations, marketing, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of group and events programs
  • Monitor sales performance metrics, prepare detailed reports, and present findings to senior management
  • Customize proposals and presentations to meet client needs and organizational objectives
  • Manage sales budgets and forecast revenue with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to build brand awareness and generate leads
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching to team members to support professional development

Qualifications

**Required Skills and Experience:**

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive sales experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity
  • Proven track record of success in group and events sales or a related hospitality sales environment
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, CRM systems, and sales analytics tools
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills with demonstrated ability to manage complex deals
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software platforms
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, forecast revenue, and develop actionable business insights
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and building long-term relationships

**Preferred Skills and Experience:**

  • Experience in the hospitality, hotel, or tourism industry
  • Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the Istanbul market
  • Background in account management or key account development
  • Experience with event management platforms and group sales technology
  • Proven success in developing and executing strategic business plans
  • Track record of building and scaling high-performing sales teams
