Job Description

The Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible of all maintenance operations, ensuring that the physical condition of the property is maintained according to company operating and safety, and optimum guest quality standards.

The incumbent will manage all engineering operations for the facilities property including electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, heating/cooling, structural, and grounds care including control and direct all vendor and company who are working to support the Engineering Department.

Liaise and work alongside team of PT. Jimbaran Green Hill to conduct villa inspection and do necessary action to follow up the defect discovered.

General Duties

  1. Manages and organizes a maintenance team whose mission is to ensure proper maintenance and repair  of the  entire  building  and hotel  different  areas   and e q u i p m e n t (front and  back  of  the  house).  This  is accomplished within  the scope of a budget and in conformity with well- defined management norms.
  1. Responsible for planning, scheduling, controlling, co-coordinating and participating in the activities of all personnel engaged in maintenance  activities.
  1. Responsible for the operation of the maintenance department, overall condition and maintenance of the property, repair and up keeping of the furniture, fixtures and equipment's, installations, systems and buildings of the Hotel. Both in term of assets and respect of equipment’s.
  1. Responsible for the security and safety norms of the equipment's and the buildings.

General Responsibilities

  1. Plans, controls and co-ordinates activities of all maintenance personnel engaged in maintenance and repair of the buildings and equipment's concerned (Audio Visual, M&E, Building in general and with particular attention and care to the Air conditioning systems, electrical distribution and generators, water systems, hotel systems such as Fire, kitchen equipment's, cold stores, laundry equipment's, gas storage and distribution, etc.).
  1. Responsible for the elaboration and implementation of maintenance standards.
  1. Inspect regularly the entire Hotel to check the state of the buildings and of the installations and equipment.
  1. Checks all hotel equipment making sure they are in good working conditions, follow up on equipment that need repair, additional spare parts, replacement or disposal.
  1. Sees to it that all repairs and maintenance jobs are done according to hotel standards and practices.
  1. Check regularly the state of cleanliness and hygiene and sanitation of the hotel equipment and building. Recommends points for improvement and implements the same.
  1. Conducts sanitation inspections and maintenance inspections of the back of the house on a regular basis according to hotel standards and procedures.
  1. Co-operates with the Purchasing department in locating  sources  for needed items, substitutes locally available for imported ones and ensure best quality and value for money.
  1. Controls costs by minimizing/decreasing chances of property damage, maintaining adequate inventory of tools. (Maintenance store control).
  1. Prepares the schedules of all maintenance colleagues, controls this schedule making sure all areas are covered properly.
  1. Follows with consistency the preventive maintenance schedule of all equipment’s in the Resort

Preventive Maintenance

  1. Ensure to set up a preventive maintenance program covering all areas of the hotel. (Set up of a data base system).
  1. Set up a schedule for preventive maintenance and ensure its realization in a timely manner.
  1. Ensure that the M&E full listing is available and fully updated for a proper schedule of preventive maintenance.
  1. Directly responsible for the hotel safety and fire standards, ensure regular check, and that safety standards and emergency procedures.
  1. Liaise with project team on preventive maintenance whenever is necessary.

Hotel safety and security

  1. In accordance with Indonesia laws and regulations, ensure safe usage of the fire, gas and electrical equipment and related items.
  1. Ensure that all fire equipment are in proper working condition (detection equipment's and fire-fighting equipment).
  1. Ensure regular fire drills are running in co-operation with the security department.
  1. On call 24/7 availability given the nature of the Position and Safety and Security importance towards colleagues, guests and asset.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience

  1.  
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience as Assistance Chief Engineer
  • Hotel operational experience is a must
  • Knowledge of local regulations related to Engineering is a must

Competencies

  •  
  • In-depth working knowledge of all aspects of building systems and operations, contractual maintenance, construction and related services, and local laws and building codes pertaining to building operations and safety.
  •  
  • Good communication and organizational skills, ability to analyze and solve problems, capable of functioning well under stress and during emergencies, strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  •  
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead employees, experience with Talent and Cultures processes as they relate to direct reports (e.g., performance management, development, coaching, feedback, etc.)
